Leslie Cober Soap Tin Illustration
Project Type: Product illustration
Project details: I created a soap tin illustration for Presto, an annual speaker event for RIT Illustration majors. In 2025, Leslie Cober, the president of the Society of Illustrators, assigned students to create a 8"x8" illustration for a 3"x3" soap tin with a theme of the students' choice.
In this event, students grouped together and had 2 days to complete the assignment for critique. My group decided to do the five tastes for a soap brand campaign in the Art Nouveau style. Each taste has its own bar of soap with a unique scent. My group was selected as one of the six finalist groups chosen for a follow-up critique with Leslie in March.

Final sketches with value studies and a color palette
For first critique, Leslie complimented our group’s work for its consistency and teamwork; for my piece specifically, she suggested making the anchovies stand out more and enlarging the text
